Gen II & III
if i give my Magneton Hidden Power in Gen II & III and it's type is one of the special types (grass, fire, water, etc..) does that mean it gets based on the Sp. Atk. or is it still physical because HP is technically a Normal-type attack? MAGNEDETH 02:50, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- Let's take for instance, Hidder Power Bug. That'll be Physical, since Bug was a Physical type back in GenII and III. However, HP Ice'd be Special, since Ice is a Special type in II and III. Hope that clears up something. Tina δ♫ 02:53, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- not entirely. hows about, if i had HP Ice on Magneton, it would run off the Sp. Atk stat instead of attack (unlike a normal-type move) thus making it useful to me (because of Magnetons high Sp. Atk) or would it be physical because HP is technically a Normal-type attack? MAGNEDETH 03:05, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- well, let me see if i can make more sence. because its technically a Normal-type attack, does that make all types physical? as in, the only possible way before Gen IV to get a physical Ice or Psychic attack? or is it by the books, Electric = Sp. Fighting = Phys. MAGNEDETH 03:13, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
HP
Hidden Power is often referred to as 'HP' by competitive battlers. However, if you search HP on Bulbapedia, you are redirected to the stats page. This could be confusing to a new player. I think maybe a disambiguation is in order, or at least a mention of it on the page. Cheesus Is Lord 13:02, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- How new do you have to be to not know about Hidden Power. I'll see what I can do. TTEchidna 23:50, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Power?
How do you determine Hidden power's power? SLE_aman
Hidden Power and STAB
Under Movesets, Hidden Power is bolded as being a STAB for Normal-type Pokémon. However, since (i) Hidden Power's type and magnitude depends on variable stats for each individual Pokémon, let alone each species, and (ii) there is no such thing as a Normal-type Hidden Power that can be activated, should this bolding be discontinued? Thanks. --CharleyUcheaLulz 02:38, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
