Y'know, I got sick of seeing the link to my userpage always glaring at me in a rather hideous "this page does not exist" red. "This page totally exists" blue is a much nicer colour. That's the only reason I bothered to make this....it's really very half-assed, but whatever. Take a look, I'm sure you'll find something to loathe about me in my collection of userboxes! *cheesy grin*
Hey, y'all! I don't do much here anymore, but I try to help out when I think I can!

My first Pokémon game ever was Yellow; it's a shame that I couldn't have actually gotten in on the ground floor, but that's close enough. Sprites are nicer, at least. Of course, Pikachu is utterly useless against Brock, so I started raising a Mankey for that battle, and it got drastically out of control. I finished the game with a drastically overleveled Primeape, and five other Pokémon who were utterly hopeless at defending themselves. I was young and stupid, and I couldn't balance a team to save my life.

And then, along came Gold! I chose Totodile as my starter, and immediately found myself jealous of my friend who picked Cyndaquil instead. Still, I stuck with the ugly li'l blue dude. And it got drastically out of control. I finished the game with a drastically overleveled Feraligatr, and five other Pokémon who were utterly hopeless at defending themselves. When I say "finished the game", of course, I mean "failed to finish the game completely"; Feraligatr alone was utterly hopeless against Red. I was young and stupid, and I couldn't balance a team to save my life. (I now also resent accidentally knocking out that shiny Metapod I found that one time. Stupid, stupid Jess!)

I missed out on Crystal, but more due to parental cheapness than anything. I still managed to get my hands on Sapphire, and I made sure not to repeat the same mistake I made with Feraligatr. Which is to say, I wound up with a Sceptile that was a useless HM slave. Instead, as soon as I caught Kyogre, I abused it to take out literally anything else I met in-game without much effort. That was my first and less experiment with seriously using a legendary on my team; I was young and stupid, and I couldn't balance a team to save my life. (I was 13 by this point, so I grew out of it soon, I promise.)

LeafGreen was my first honest-to-goodness attempt at actually trying to learn the intricacies of the game mechanics, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made, as far as decisions with no real bearing on life go! I continued learning through Emerald, into Diamond and Platinum, and finally, SoulSilver gave my a long-awaited chance to raise a Cyndaquil of my own. Sadly, I never got to use the online features, because the wi-fi capabilities of the DS are, shall we say, kinda terrible.

When I first picked up White, I thought it was so exciting and new, but then....I dunno. Was it really necessary to have that little variety so early in the game? If I never see another Patrat or Purrloin again, it'll be too soon. And I'd like to invite those lame Elemental Monkeys to please leave me alone and, instead, go do obscene things to themselves. Some of the designs definitely seem weaker than ever, too. The more I think about the way Vullaby is essentially using an eggshell as a DIAPER, the more thoroughly disgusted I get. (Nicely done, James Turner!)

But was it really some flaw in the games themselves, I wondered? Or is it just because I'm ostensibly an adult now? I guess Black 2 cleared that up well enough; adding more variety and balance to the game world did the trick. (Being able to EV train Special Attack in more than just one or two places again is awesome, too!) And so, once again, they've managed to reabsorb me into the series. They always find a way...

Hey, y'all! I don't do much here anymore, but I try to help out when I think I can!

My first Pokémon game ever was Pokémon Yellow; it's a shame that I couldn't have actually gotten in on the ground floor, but that's close enough.

And then, along came Pokémon Gold!

I missed out on Pokémon Crystal, but more due to parental cheapness than anything. I still managed to get my hands on Pokémon Sapphire, and I made sure not to repeat the same mistake I made with Feraligatr.

Pokémon LeafGreen was my first honest-to-goodness attempt at actually trying to learn the intricacies of the game mechanics, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made, as far as decisions with no real bearing on life go! I continued learning through Pokémon Emerald, into Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Platinum, and finally, Pokémon SoulSilver gave my a long-awaited chance to raise a Cyndaquil of my own. Sadly, I never got to use the online features, because the wi-fi capabilities of the DS are, shall we say, kinda terrible.

When I first picked up Pokémon White, I thought it was so exciting and new, but then....I dunno.

I guess Pokémon Black 2 cleared that up well enough; adding more variety and balance to the game world did the trick. (Being able to EV train Special Attack in more than just one or two places again is awesome, too!) And so, once again, they've managed to reabsorb me into the series. They always find a way...
