Template:Infobox town New Bark Town (Japanese: ワカバタウン Wakaba Town) is the hometown of the main character in the Generation II games. It is home to the lab of Professor Elm, who possesses the starting Pokémon for that generation: Chikorita, Totodile, and Cyndaquil.
Other than being connected to Route 29 in the west, it is also the town that must be passed through to reach Tohjo Falls, Victory Road and the Indigo Plateau, via Route 26 and Route 27. The town's motto is "Where winds of a new beginning blow."

Demographics
New Bark Town's population is about 10. This makes it the smallest population in Johto.
Name origin
New Bark Town's name comes from the fact that Generation II introduced 100 new Pokémon, as well as a reference to the fact that all of the towns of Johto are named for plants. The motto also references the newness of Generation II compared to the previous generation. Wakaba (若葉) means new leaves or fresh verdure.
Trivia
- Despite appearing to be farther away from the Johto-Kanto border on the Town Map, the player character's house is 7 steps from the border with Route 27, 10 steps closer than the Silver Cave Pokémon Center is to Route 28, thus making it the closest Fly destination to the border.
