Magma Armor (Japanese: マグマのよろい Magma Armor) is an ability introduced in Generation III that prevents freezing. Only 3 Pokémon have this ability, all of them Fire type. From Pokémon Emerald onwards, it also halves the number of steps it takes for an egg to hatch. Both the Pokémon with Magma Armor and the egg must be in the party in order for this to work.
