The Elite Four are one of two groups of four Pokémon Trainers who are regarded as the highest-ranked Trainers in the Pokémon League, short of League Champion. Those who challenge the Elite Four must have all eight Badges from their region, and face all four of them and the current Champion consecutively without being able to rest. Those who defeat all five becomes the Champion. One of the two Elite Fours is in Indigo Plateau in Kanto and are considered the best Trainers in both Kanto and Johto, while the other is in Ever Grande City in Hoenn.
In Generation I, the Elite Four in Indigo Plateau consisted of Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, and Lance, with Gary Oak as Champion.
In Generation II, the Elite Four in Indigo Plateau consisted of Will, Bruno, Koga, and Karen, with Lance as Champion.
In Generation III, the Elite Four in Ever Grande City consisted of Sidney, Phoebe, Glacia, and Drake, with Steven Stone as Champion in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, and with Wallace as Champion in Pokémon Emerald.
