:::I think the Ace Attorney thing is just another coincidence. Dick Gumshoe is, much like Gumshoos, based off of a "detective stock character", as Masternachos said. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say they just so happened to use similar designs. ::::"Dick" and "Gumshoe" have both been slang for detective since at least the 1920s, so the Ace Attorney character would not be so much a coincidence as it is an unrelated character derived from (and named after) the same generic stock character (much like Columbo, who I referenced in my first post); probably not so much as "happened to" use similar designs as intentionally imitated an older, well-known generic design. I think the eyelashes are just the style they use for detectives. The detective off Lupin the third had the same eye lashes. Gumshoos is just your run of a mill complement of various elements from the detective, hooligan/authoritative genres. nothing really else. I still think that the gums part might relate to age. I know gumming is another word for chewing[[User:Yamitora1|Yamitora1]] ([[User talk:Yamitora1|talk]]) 10:41, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
