Release information

This card was released as a promotional card. The Japanese version of this card was released in Trainer Magazine #12. The English version of this card was released at BattleZone events in March 2003.

Trivia

  • This card was the second of only two VS-style cards to see release outside Japan, the other being Rocket's Sneasel, and the only VS-style card to see release outside Japan that wouldn't be a Basic Pokémon in a traditional style.
    • At the same time, like several other VS-styled cards, this card could technically have been an evolution card, as a card of Rocket's Scyther had been previously released.

Origin

Focus's Japanese name is that of Focus Energy, a move in the Pokémon games that Scizor can learn. Agility is also a move that Scizor can learn.
