Mixing records is a way to share information with other players, which is able to be done in the Union Room in the Pokémon Center. After the player mixes records with one or more players, that person is able to watch shows on the television about the person he or she mixed records with.
Generation III
In Generation III, mixing records with another player will have shows about that player air on the television. In addition, the player will be able to find and enter that person's Secret Base, and eventually, if beaten the Elite Four, battle the other person. Depending on timing, other things may happen on TV:
- Pokémon News
- Pokémon Contest interviews
- Battle Tower/Battle Frontier interviews
- Pokémon profile boasts
In addition, all players that mixed records will have this on the same day:
- swarms
- Trendy Phrase
- location of Feebas
