Work for the TCG
Fukuda describes his illustrations as cute, colorful and vibrant. He uses his eye for color and detail to give the Pokémon he depicts character and depth, making his images very striking and distinctive. His first TCG illustrations were featured in the EX Team Rocket Returns set. He provided illustrations for all Pokémon ☆ in the TCG, which are perhaps his most prominent as he purposefully exaggerates the angles and colors used to make them stand out. In addition to providing artwork for the cards themselves, he has also provided artwork for deck kits and special packs in Japan, as well as booster packs and theme decks for English and European releases. In particular, he provided work for the Majestic Dawn set for booster packs as well as theme decks, Polar Frost, and Forest Force. His favorite Pokémon is Lugia. Thus far, Fukuda has illustrated 472 cards for the TCG. For a list of cards he has illustrated, go here.
