These Pokémon are, in the core series, only obtainable from events. Most of the Pokémon in this list are Mythical Pokémon, with the exceptions of Pikachu in a cap, Spiky-eared Pichu, the Poké Ball Vivillon pattern, and Ash-Greninja.

Several Pokémon were previously on this list until later becoming available through other means. Deoxys was on this list until its inclusion in the Delta Episode; Celebi was on it until its inclusion in the Virtual Console release of Pokémon Crystal; Keldeo was on it prior to its inclusion in The Crown Tundra; Mew and Jirachi were on it prior to to them being given out as in-game gift Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl; and Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus were on this list prior to their inclusion in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
