Tomoko Kawakami

Tomoko Kawakami (Japanese: 川上とも子 Kawakami Tomoko, real name in kanji 川上倫子, born April 25, 1970 - June 9, 2011) was a Japanese seiyū for the Pokémon anime.

On August 19, 2008, she underwent surgery after admitting herself to a hospital for ovarian cancer. As a result, she was given a 20-month sick leave. Satsuki Yukino took over for all her roles during this time and after she died in June 2011.[1]
