Unaware (Japanese: てんねん Spontaneity) is an ability introduced in Generation IV. As of Generation V, three Pokémon have this ability. Prior to Generation V, two Pokémon had this ability, both in the same evolutionary line.
Effect
In battle
Unaware ignores the foe's positive stat changes, with the exception of Speed, positive or negative. For example, if the foe uses Iron Defense, and a Pokémon with this ability uses a Physical move on the foe, the damage dealt will be the same as if Iron Defense was not used.
Outside of battle
Unaware has no effect outside of battle.
