Are Nidoran♂ an Nidoran♀ an exception to how Cute Charm works or will it actually interfere with those two's encounter rates to prioritize the opposite gender of the Pokémon in the first slot of the party that has Cute Charm? Or does Cute Charm not affect Nidoran's entire lines at all? Shiramu Kuromu (talk) 18:50, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

Generation IX - effect on wild Pokemon encounters
This is listed in the article of needing further research, but as a quick anecdotal case I was searched for wild Zorua in Tagtree Thicket earlier tonight with a male Sylveon leading my party, and while it felt like there were more female than male wild Pokemon overall, the vast majority of Zoruas I found were males (I wasn't keeping exact tallies, but of about 25 encounters I found only 4-5 females).  So that leaves me with two questions -- does it not work on Illusion Pokemon, or (as currently implied) has the ability simply been changed outright?  Its effect on wild Pokemon genders was always undocumented to begin with...
This could be researched more easily using Pokemon with easily discernable gender forms (Hippopotas, Oinkologne, Pyroar, etc). --Stratelier 06:32, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
