Team Magma's Red-Hot Rage (Japanese: 熱き血潮のマグマ団) was a villain event in Pokémon Masters EX. It tied into the first part of the Hoenn chapter of the Villain Arc, featuring battles against Team Magma. It was one of the Hoenn villain events, the other being Team Aqua's Stormy Seas.

During this event, players could earn vouchers from battles against Team Magma that could be redeemed in the shop for rewards, including Legendary Spirits that could be used to raise Zinnia & Rayquaza to 6★ EX. Obtaining 2,000 vouchers would reward players with a medal. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.

This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.

All sync pairs with the Hoenn theme skill received a bonus to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def stats when used for this event, with the amount of the bonus varying between areas.

First run

The event first ran from July 29 to August 28, 2022. The "Sygna Suit May Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit May & Blaziken for the duration of the event, and the "Sygna Suit Brendan Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Brendan & Latios starting on July 31, 2022 and lasting until the end of the event. In addition, Zinnia & Rayquaza received their EX style in conjunction with the event.

In this run, players could take on "Challenge Team Magma" battles to earn Event Vouchers O. Event missions rewarded players with Gems and Battle Points for completing any of these battles a certain number of times, and the Battle Challenge mission rewards included a Tech and a Support Move Candy Coin.

Additionally, the music and artwork on the title screen were different than usual. From July 29 to August 10, 2022, the title screen artwork depicted Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza, and the background music wasBattle! (Super-Ancient Pokémon) (Pokémon Masters EX Version). From August 10 to 28, 2022, Sygna Suit Steven & Deoxys were added to this title screen artwork, and the background music wasDecisive Battle! (Steven) (Pokémon Masters EX Version).

Second run

The event reran from March 27 to April 15, 2023. The "Double Feature Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting May (Anniversary 2022) & Latias and Sygna Suit Brendan & Latios for the duration of the event, and May (Anniversary 2022) & Latias's sync grid was expanded with new grid tiles that could be unlocked at move levels 2, 4, and 5.

In this run, the battles were renamed from "Challenge Team Magma" to "Challenge the Magma Grunts". Players could earn Event Vouchers D from these battles, and the amount of vouchers received as completion rewards was increased drastically. In addition, the mission rewards were changed to only award Gems and medals.

If the player had already raised Zinnia & Rayquaza to 6★ EX, they could not do anything with her custom Legendary Spirits; so, an exchange was included in the shop to revert the Legendary Spirits back into Event Vouchers D. Performing this exchange counted as obtaining more Event Vouchers D for the purposes of Mission 7.

Third run

The event reran again from June 22 to July 11, 2023. The "Sygna Suit May Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit May & Blaziken for the duration of the event, and Sygna Suit May's sync grid was expanded with new grid tiles that could be unlocked at move levels 2, 4, and 5. In addition, Brendan & Sceptile gained the ability to Mega Evolve after using their sync move.

In this run, players could earn Event Vouchers V from battles. Everything else was the same as the previous run.
