Um… what does Magnagate mean? I think it would be important information. --Abcboy (talk) 02:32, 15 September 2012 (UTC)

It's an AR thing. You use it to open up new Dungeons, somehow. Ataro (talk) 02:42, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Ahhhh… So that is what (マグナゲート Magnagate) means... Augmented reality… Doesn't really make sense… --Abcboy (talk) 03:25, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
If you're looking for definition, magna is from the Latin word magnus (great), so it basically means "Great gate". --超龍Chao 03:47, 15 September 2012 (UTC)

A magnagate is the portal the player uses to go into new dungeons. They just have to be round. Here's a list of things you can use. Eggs, Tires, Balls, Toilet Paper, And More! Doggy567123 (talk) 13:39, 30 September 2012 (UTC)

Should we mention that a lemniscate is included in the title artwork/spelling as an alternate way of spelling Mugendai or ist it already too obvious that it symbolizes infinity? Renoir (talk) 08:55, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

I wouldn't --Doggy567123 (talk) 21:36, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

Our broken numbering system

If we were to number this one, what would it be? We used to have it as:

  • MD1 (Red and Blue Rescue Team)
  • MD2 (Explorers of Time and Darkness)
  • MD3 (Explorers of Sky)

But now, with the WiiWare games (MD4? The true MD3? A spin-off of a spin-off?) and MIL (MD4, MD5, or something else), the numbering has gotten way off. --Abcboy (talk) 13:54, 30 September 2012 (UTC)

  • It'll be fine. Since the WiiWare games were not released outside of Japan, I'm gonna call it MD4.- unsigned comment from Doggy567123 (talkcontribs)
However, the WiiWare games were still released in Japan. We currently count Pokémon Stadium (Japanese) as part of the Stadium series. Unless we branch it off for Wiiware games I would say that we try to number it in a way similar to how the main series is grouped by generation. I would say Sky could be moved to MD2 as long as there is a reason for it to stay at MD3. The WiiWare games could be given either MD4 or MDW1 which leaves MIL with either MD4 or MD5. Granted, this still would not be a perfect system. --Super goku (talk) 03:02, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
I guess your right. I'm gonna call them MD4 though. --Doggy567123 (talk) 20:57, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
Wait, why do we need this? Is this essential for anything relating to the page, or is this just you asking a personal question? Personal questions belong on the forums. Talk pages are for improving the structure of the site. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 21:12, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
You're right. There's no reason for this, it's stupid and has nothing to do with the page. - unsigned comment from Doggy567123 (talkcontribs)
Tell me where MD4 should go, then. --Abcboy (talk) 21:21, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
No where, those redirects are absolutely pointless. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 23:13, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
Don't forget MD 1, MD 2, and MD 3 then. --Abcboy (talk) 23:15, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
UGH! JoTheMarten is right, those redirects are pointless and we're wasting time arguing!- unsigned comment from Doggy567123 (talkcontribs)
Are you sure that the redirects are pointless? We have redirects in place for several things so what is wrong with it right now? --Super goku (talk) 20:09, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
PMD1, PMD 2, and PMD 3 still exist. A Senior Administrator already deleted MD1, MD2, and MD3 with the reason "Unneeded redirect page: Not needed.". I dislike it, but if they want it gone, I pretty much have no control.--Abcboy (talk) 20:20, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
An Editorial Board member and the Editor-in-Chief already deleted some more of them. That idea is toast. --Abcboy (talk) 20:28, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
-_- If we already have the PMD redirects, then why are we talking about the MD redirects? (I now suggest Sky to PMD2 as long as there are no reasons to not move it and WiiWare to take PMD4.) --Super goku (talk) 22:36, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
(And PMD: MatIL can be PMD5 if there are no complaints.) --Super goku (talk) 22:38, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
As far as I know, the redirects MD1, MD2, MD3, MD 1, MD 2, and MD 3 were deleted. PMD1, PMD 2, and PMD 3 still remain. All I'm saying is since two-thirds were already deleted, PMD1, PMD 2, and PMD 3 aren't going to last much longer. --Abcboy (talk) 23:41, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
My point is void. But we still have Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 1 and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2. And Pokemon mystery dungeon 2, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2, Pokmon Mystery Dungeon 2, PMD2, Mystery Dungeon 2, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 3, Pokemon Dungeon 3, Mystery Dungeon 3, PMD3, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 3. --Abcboy (talk) 23:50, 13 October 2012 (UTC)

Demo gameplay.

I haz found gameplay of demo version on YouTube. Go ahead. If anyone knows Japanese and can read it, (s)he might find out something new. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 20:46, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

Since we are now waiting for the US release, there should be a demo coming up, but there isn't any. Why aren't they releasing the US demo? Pikachu4170 (talk) 21:14, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
Answer: March 7th. Pikachu4170 (talk) 22:05, 26 February 2013 (UTC)

It's out today!!!

I am quite new here and just want the green light to take down the expected future event banner. BTW, I have some passwords for items I could add to the article.Eeveewithwings123 (talk) 15:31, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

Really?

Does anyone know ANYTHING about this? Why are we being left in the dark? - unsigned comment from Doggy567123 (talkcontribs)

Calm down. Sign your posts. I'm excited too. Just wait for our Japanese-reading comrades to get their hands on the game. --Abcboy (talk) 03:00, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

The Final Boss of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth

I know what the final boss of the game is, and I can provide a reliable source to prove what the final boss is.

The final boss in PMD 3DS is 氷蝕体, which translates as "Glacial Body" in Google Translate. Glacial Body is not a Pokémon, like Dark Rust in Pokémon Rumble Blast.

There is videos on battling the final boss in the game, here they are if you'd like to see them:

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNVIJ3yPLyA Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVqlpT_xAD4Platinum Lucario (talk) 21:41, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

For now I've started calling the final boss Hyōshokutai, 'cause I cannot exactly confirm that it really means "Glacial Body". Google Translate can make many inaccurate translations. —Platinum Lucario (talk) 07:54, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Post Town and/or Pokémon Paradise?

I'm very confused. Is there both a Post Town and a Pokémon Paradise or is it one or the other? --Abcboy (talk) 05:20, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

The website appears to be defining Post Town as the area where all of the shops are and the hill where events take place. Pokémon Paradise appears to be defined as the areas near the Pokémon's house that the player builds. In-game they are two different areas, but in the Japanese Version it calls the whole area Pokémon Paradise. G50 05:24, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

Plot summary

Do we really need the novelization of the Prima guide on this page? The plot summary is much too long: take Black and White's plot summary as a proof of that. I just think it's way too excessive. --Zoraluigi (Talk) 04:54, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

The names of the shops

If you use Google Chrome's "View source" option on this page, in hidden comments it reveals the English names of the shops who's names are "Unknown" and their purpose is "Unknown"; it also reveals the purpose of each shop too. Just wanted to point this out so we can finally add the names and purpose of the shops on it. - Clubchloe1RS DS! 17:41, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

Does the game have WonderMail mechanics? (Answered!)

I think a lot of people are trying to wonder if the game accepts WonderMail like the other games?
Pikachu4170 (talk) 03:11, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Update: The game accepts WonderMail codes! I checked the main menu screen carefully and figured out that there is a "WonderMail" selection, so this question is now answered and it's a YES.
Pikachu4170 (talk) 04:01, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
UPDATE 2: The game does have WonderMail, but is shorter. So old codes will not work!
Pikachu4170 (talk) 00:36, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
WonderMail here is not used for rescuing other people... only to receive items apparently. Rescuing other players can only be done through StreetPass now.

Demo version

So if you'll notice the demo section of the page was made by me and Dragonhat but I was thinking we could use more info. I'm currently playing and replaying the demo for more and more info... So does anyone think the demo could stand to have its own page? It has text that most likely wont be in the full game and it has so much information I think it could use its own page. So.. What do you all think? Should I go ahead with making it? Believe me it won't be a stub, ill have loads of stuff. --Cj1227 (Need Something?) 03:19, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

In my opinion, making a new article for the demo might be unnecessary unless we know for sure that there are things in it aren't in the full version, and how many things. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 03:21, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
Well for an example the little DLC Foongus says: "You'll be able to purchase downloadable content in the full version. Try again then!" And he's not the only one to make comments such as that. --Cj1227 (Need Something?) 03:35, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
I don't think that's enough for a separate page. It's just a demo, so of course they would say that. A note on the regular page would be nice. Ataro (talk) 03:43, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
My main thing was how Magnagates are completely random in the demo. That could give us some good information. --Cj1227 (Need Something?) 03:55, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Plot summary is maybe a weeee bit too long

Someone put in a lot of hard work there, for sure... but I think perhaps it should be cut down by quite a bit. I would do it myself, but I'd like to get a consensus first before I do anything... and the last thing I want to do is to do one thing when it's clear everyone wants it done another way. -- Nick15 (talk) 22:08, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

I would love the plot summary to be cut down some. Registered just to chime in on this, actually. CaptainSidekick (talk) 21:35, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

How do Pokemon evolve

In GTI how do Pokemon evolve, and is it before you beat Glacial Body? (ShadowPikachu126 (talk) 23:59, 31 March 2013 (UTC))

Check out "After the Main Storyline" part of the main article. That should answer your questions. Shambles12 (talk) 19:44, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

Where is information on the magnagates?

there should be a section on that.

Here is a list in progress

Magnagate list

Metafruit (talk) 04:06, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

This page has the information on the Maganagates. G50 04:13, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Stat cap info: where should it go?

This info probably doesn't belong on this page specifically, but I figured that I would start my investigation here. After an OBSCENE amount of item farming, I've figured out that in this game, max HP cannot be raised above 500, and all other stats cannot be raised above 255. These caps exist regardless of the Pokémon (except for legendary bosses, some of which have well over 1000 HP). Also note that these stat caps can be all be "broken" with stat-boosting held items like Heart Pendants and Power Bands. In other words, the base values cannot exceed these caps. Where would be the best place for this to be noted, if anywhere? Dragonhat (talk) 04:08, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Demo

I swear the demo version of GtI only has about 10 uses, hopefully nobody minds if I change the article. I'm not sure whether or not the demo time is different between the Japanese, American and European versions. --Reliジーランス? 10:37, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
