In Kitakami, Ogre Oustin' is a special activity passed down as a tradition since long ago, which opens up in the Festival of Masks. Inspired by the story of the Loyal Three Pokémon's battle against Ogerpon, the game uses four different colored balloons resembling each of Ogerpon's masks.

Mochi can only be acquired by participating in Ogre Oustin'.

Reason: Needs images of the possible maps that can be rolled.

While riding KoraidonS/MiraidonV, players collect berries by popping Ogre Balloons and bring them to the Berry Tables for points before the time runs out. A maximum of 30 berries can be collected before disposing them; balloons can still be popped after but no berries will be collected as the pouch is full. Once one of the tables has berries in it, wild Pokémon will begin to appear walking towards the tables to eat the collected berries, which will reduce the score. Players can fend off invading Pokémon by pressing R to roar and scare them away. There are three modes for players to choose from with each one increasing in number of stages and difficulty. Every mode and each stage has a 120-second timer.

  • Easy: 3 stages
  • Normal: 6 stages
  • Hard: 10 stages

Various maps are available based on areas in Kitakami, though they are randomly selected.

The timer will reset between each stage with the required amount of berries increasing. The period between each stage allows players to move around the map to quickly spread out before the timer begins. Pressing Y to immediately return to base, where the Berry Tables are stationed, will not bring back collected berries in the payer's bag and they will be thrown away.

There are four Pokémon that can appear as invaders. Skwovet and Munchlax appear in lower stages, Greedent starts appearing in middle stages, while Snorlax appears in higher stages and is the fastest between them. Snorlax does not appear in Easy mode.

Flying is disabled during Ogre Oustin'.

Rewards

Ogre Oustin' has three groups of item rewards, as well as gifts upon completing a difficulty for the first time.

When the player participates in a round of Ogre Oustin' for the first time as part of a story cutscene, the score earned on that attempt will be credited as a score for Easy difficulty, but even if the round is completed successfully, the typical first-time completion gift associated with Easy difficulty will not be awarded, and Normal difficulty will not be unlocked until the player completes Easy again on a separate attempt. At the end of this first attempt, the player receives the Exp. Charm regardless of score or completion status. All other gifts require a minimum of 300 points to be earned.
