Trivia

  • Mallow and Appletun were the first Dragon-type sync pair with the Alola theme skill.
    • Upon their release, Alola became the third region in Pokémon Masters EX to have a sync pair of every type, behind Sinnoh and Unova.
  • All versions of Mallow use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). Those Trainers include Lana, Kiawe, Olivia, and Siebold.
    • Mallow also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Lana or Siebold in the same team.
  • In the story event Chef's Heartful Delivery, Mallow reveals that she received her Appletun from Victor as an Applin.

Origin

Mallow's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon. Tsareena is Mallow's signature Pokémon in the core series games. Tsareena's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.

Shiinotic is another Pokémon that Mallow uses in the core series games. Shiinotic's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.

Mallow is not seen owning an Appletun outside this game. Appletun's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Shield.
