Drake's Dragonite (Japanese: ユウジのカイリュー Yūji's Kairyu) is Drake's main Pokémon in the anime and his strongest as well. Drake keeps Dragonite's Poké Ball around his neck.
Dragonite first appeared in Hello Pummelo. It was seen flying around the island. Later when Team Rocket tried to steal Dragonite, they were sent blasting off with a Hyper Beam attack.
In Enter The Dragonite, Drake used Dragonite in the gym match against Ash Ketchum. It was shown to be a very strong battler. With its impressive speed and power, it was able to take out Ash's Charizard, Squirtle and Tauros, although all three managed to land at least one blow on Dragonite before they fainted. Even though it fought 3 of Ash's Pokémon, it was still able to defeat Team Rocket when they tried another attempt at capturing it when it was tired out.
It then had to battle Ash's Pikachu in the last round of the match. Despite being tired out from the previous battles, it managed to put up a good fight against Pikachu, but, after a fierce battle, it was defeated by Pikachu's use of a Thunder attack while positioned on Dragonite's head, and Ash became the champion of the Orange League.

- Dragonite used six different moves in one episode. Game-wise, it would be impossible to know that many moves at one time because the limit is four.
