Trivia
- It was announced in July 2017 that this card was to be banned from all sanctioned Pokémon TCG tournaments using the Expanded format as it was ruled to create an unbalanced playing environment. The specific concerns were:
- Its Ancient Power Ability has a very negative effect on decks that rely on evolved Pokémon.
- It limits the number of viable strategies when used with Maxie's Hidden Ball Trick. Though this card had also been banned, the release of Ditto ♢ kept it relatively easy to play Archeops.
Origin
Ancient Power and Rock Slide are both moves in the Pokémon games that Archeops can learn. This card's Noble Victories Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Black. The Dark Explorers print features the Shiny version of Archeops.
