The Black Arachnid

The Black Arachnid (Japanese: 怪盗猫八 The Phantom Thief Nekohachi) was a cat burglar and one of the greatest thieves in the history of Johto. He appeared in a flashback in Spinarak Attack.

Operating out of Catallia City 100 years ago, the Black Arachnid was a clever, quick, and agile thief who employed a Meowth to help him pick locks. The two stole many priceless treasures and always escaped by using Pay Day to cause a distraction long enough to scare away the police.

He was finally caught when an Officer Jenny caught them with her Spinarak, and to this day, all of the police officers of Catallia City use Spinarak as a tribute to her.
