Teravoltage allows the Pokémon's moves to strike through any opposing abilities; e.g. {{type2|Electric}} moves will hit a Pokémon with {{a|Motor Drive}}. Likewise, Pokémon with {{a|Water Absorb}} or {{a|Wonder Guard}} will have their abilities disabled and will be damaged by {{type|Water}} or non-super effective moves, respectively. The {{a|Levitate}} ability is also lifted, enabling {{type2|Ground}} moves to hit those Pokémon. However, this does not enable Pokémon who are unaffected from a type by its own typing, rather than an ability, to get hit by the type that doesn't affect it through Teravoltage. Teravoltage does not ignore the effects of {{a|Mummy}}.

Teravolt (Japanese: テラボルテージ Teravoltage) is an Ability introduced in Generation V. It is the signature Ability of Zekrom and Black Kyurem.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with Teravolt uses a move, the effects of all Pokémon's ignorable Abilities are ignored for the execution of that move. (Ignorable Abilities are most Abilities that could potentially negatively affect the success, damage, or effects of a move if possessed by the target of a move or its allies.) For example, a Pokémon with Teravolt can cause critical hits to opponents that have Battle Armor.

When a Pokémon with Teravolt is brought out, the message "<name> is radiating a bursting aura!" will be displayed.

Generation VIII onward

Teravolt no longer ignores Dark Aura and Fairy Aura, though it will still ignore Aura Break.

Outside of battle

Teravolt has no effect outside of battle.
