Roark's Rampardos (Japanese: ヒョウタのラムパルド Hyouta's Rampard) is Roark's main Pokémon in the games and anime.

In the anime

Its voice actor in both Japanese and English is 三宅健太 Kenta Miyake. As a Cranidos, it was voiced by 佐藤智恵 Chie Satō in Japanese and by Bill Rogers in English.

It first appeared in Shapes of Things to Come as a Cranidos. Roark used it against Paul. It knew many powerful attacks such as Zen Headbutt and Flamethrower. Cranidos managed to defeat Paul's Chimchar before losing to his Elekid, but not without giving a fierce battle.

It again appeared in A Gruff Act to Follow. This time Roark used it against Ash. It defeated Ash's Aipom and weakened Pikachu and Turtwig so that Roark's Onix could finish them off, thus defeating Ash Ketchum.

Cranidos evolved into Rampardos in Wild in the Streets during a fight with Team Rocket. Ash then challenged Roark for a rematch in O'er the Rampardos we Watched. Rampardos managed to easily defeat Ash's Aipom and Pikachu and almost defeated Turtwig, but Turtwig managed to emerge victorious due to quick thinking on Ash's part, earning Ash the Coal Badge.

It appeared again in Ancient Family Matters!, where it battled against Byron's Bastiodon. However, the match was interrupted due to Team Rocket. It then teamed up with Bastiodon to send them blasting off.

In the games

As in the anime, Rampardos is Roark's main Pokémon in the games. However, being the first Gym Leader the player faces in the games he appears in (Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum), in his battles he still has an unevolved Cranidos. In his rematch at the Battleground in Pokémon Platinum, however, it is shown to have evolved.
