In the [[Distortion World]], [[Mars]], [[Saturn]], and [[Jupiter]] are battling against [[Cheryl]], [[Mira]], and the team of [[Marley]] and {{p|Shaymin}}, respectively.

Continuing their battle, [[Mira]] faces [[Saturn]] while [[Cheryl]] battles [[Mars]] and [[Marley]] battles [[Jupiter]]. [[Saturn's Toxicroak]] attacks with its hand spike, but Mira's {{p|Alakazam}} blocks it with its spoon and uses {{m|Power Trick}}. A confused Saturn points out that Mira is just switching her Alakazam's Attack and Defense stats. Mira follows up by having Alakazam use {{m|Guard Swap}}, which Saturn notes is swapping its Special Defense with its Defense stat; this confuses Saturn, as this removes the advantage a {{type|Psychic}} Pokémon has against his {{p|Toxicroak}}. Saturn questions Mira about this, while simultaneously attacking with {{m|Poison Jab}}. In her head, Mira reveals that she intends to draw out their battle and wants to make sure Saturn won't be able to deal much damage.

Then it uses {{m|Guard Split}}, lowering its {{stat|Special Defense}} but raising its Defense. Saturn asks how badly she wants to defend, says she's ruining her {{type|Psychic}} advantage, and has his [[Saturn's Toxicroak]] use {{m|Poison Jab}}. Mira is getting ready to make it so that Saturn cannot deal any damage and make the battle long.
On Mars's side, she commands her {{p|Yanmega}} to attack Cheryl's {{p|Blissey}} with {{m|Bug Buzz}}. Blissey attempts to recover some of its health with a Berry, but Yanmega steals and eats the Berry with {{m|Bug Bite}}. Cheryl counters with {{m|Sing}} and has Blissey put Yanmega to sleep. Mars switches for her {{p|Bronzor}} and prevents Blissey from healing itself with {{m|Heal Block}}.
