This Pokémon spent 13 chapters as Poochyena.

Nana (Japanese: NANA Nana) was one of the first Pokémon that Ruby obtained in the Pokémon Adventures manga.

History

Nana as a Poochyena

Nana first appeared as a Poochyena. Nana was capable of using a different version of Hyper Beam when she was still a Poochyena, and her powers fully manifested after she evolved into a Mightyena at Granite Cave. After Ruby decided to pursue the path of Contests, Nana became in charge of the Cool category and has a stubborn streak.

Trivia

  • Ruby has a Mightyena with the name Nana and a Castform with the name Popo, both of which seem to share their names with the Ice Climbers.
  • Despite being a Template:Type2 Pokémon, Nana hasn't used any Dark-type moves, in fact, Nana only knows Template:Type2 moves.
