Jessie's Yanmega (Japanese: ムサシのメガヤンマ Musashi's Megayanma) is the first Pokémon caught by Jessie of Team Rocket during her travels through Sinnoh. It is voiced by 古島清孝 Kiyotaka Furushima in Japanese.
Jessie caught this Pokémon as a Yanma in DP080 after Taisei battled and weakened it. After she captured it, Yanma was sent to Giovanni as their second successful theft. However, he immediately returned it after analyzing it and finding it to be too weak. Jessie then decided to train Yanma herself, not knowing that Yanma already knew AncientPower. Thus, when she sent it into battle it quickly evolved into Yanmega.

Trivia
- Jessie captured Yanma after someone else weakened it. This echos how she captured her Shellder. In this case, it was Taisei and his Piplup that weakened Yanma, whereas James's Weezing weakened Shellder.
- As a Yanma, it is the first Pokémon that evolved in the same episode it was captured since Ash's Caterpie in Ash Catches a Pokémon. Because Ash's Metapod did not further evolve into Butterfree until midway through the next episode, Yanma reached its final form the fastest of all Pokémon belonging to the anime's main characters. Caterpie also appeared in a flashback Ash had in the episode Yanma was captured.
- This is Jessie's first new Pokémon since she obtained Charizard in Grating Spaces, and her first capture since she caught her Wurmple in All in a Day's Wurmple, 257 episodes before. Oddly enough, that episode had a Yanma in it that was owned by another trainer.
- As a Yanma, it was the fourth Generation II Pokémon owned by a main character in the Diamond & Pearl series, the others being Dawn's Aipom, Brock's Sudowoodo and Ash's Gligar.
- Yanmega is the second Generation IV Pokémon to evolve from a Generation II Pokémon on-screen after Dawn's Ambipom, and the third Generation II Pokémon to evolve into a Generation IV Pokémon overall, since Paul's Murkrow evolved into Honchkrow off-screen between DP064 and DP066.
- Yanmega is Jessie's first captured Flying-Type Pokémon.
