Trivia
- This special aired between JN093 and JN094 in Japan.
- This episode marks the first time since Memories are Made of Bliss! that Ash, Brock, and Dawn have physically appeared together.
- This also marks the first time that an entire group of Ash's friends, excluding ones from the original series, have reunited outside of their main series.
- Despite them having debuted in Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl, this is the first time the lake guardians have received Pokédex entries in the anime.
- During the flashback to The Battle Finale of Legend!, the portal simply vanishes after Cyrus leaps into it, instead of being destroyed by Dialga and Palkia. It is unclear whether this is merely a continuity error, or if it is meant to be a retcon of the original event.
