EX Team Magma vs Team Aqua is the name given to the fourth main expansion of the EX Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. In Japan, it was released as Magma VS Aqua: Two Ambitions, the only subset in the Pokémon Card Game ADV Era. It is based on Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, featuring Generation III Pokémon and the two villainous teams of the Hoenn region Team Magma and Team Aqua. The English expansion was released on March 15, 2004, while the Japanese subset was released on October 24, 2003.
EX Team Magma vs Team Aqua introduced dual-type Pokémon, in which Pokémon have a secondary type. Owner's Pokémon made its return.
The card design was visually enhanced for Pokémon belonging to their respective teams. Team Magma's Pokémon had curvy lines on the border of the artwork window, while Team Aqua's Pokémon had bubbles on it.
