Dexter (Japanese: ビック Vick) is a character in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and Pokémon Platinum. He is the MC and one of the judges of the Pokémon Super Contests.

In the games

Dexter appears as the MC and a Contest Judge of the Pokémon Super Contests in Hearthome City, Sinnoh in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and Pokémon Platinum. He appears to be a kind man who genuinely enjoys his work, despite limited interaction with the player. His input appears to be somewhat more important in the Acting Competition than Keira's or Jordan's, as raising his Voltage to maximum gains the Pokémon's Trainer eight points instead of five. Also, he sits in the center of the three judges and has a heart under his name.

His appearance looks somewhat different in the games to the manga. In the games, he appears as a somewhat tall man with a full head of white hair, wearing a bow-tie.

Dexter in Pokémon Adventures

Dexter is first seen in the Hearthome Pokémon Super Contest hall when Platinum arrives and determinedly swears an oath to partake in the contests the day after she arrives. After Diamond is given the Poffin Case and creates various mixes of excellent Poffin for her that bring up Prinplup's Coolness stat high (which Dexter notices), she sees opposition in various jealous partakers of the contest, whose intervention nearly had the girl backing out before Diamond brings her spirits up, after which she manages to win nevertheless, utilizing a combination of Bubble Metal Claw, and Ice Beam and Peck.

A young Dexter is later seen in on a picture with a younger Johanna in Diamond's home. He is also seen with his fellow judges at the Lost Tower after having been sent there because of the fight between Dialga and Palkia that caused time and space to distort.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure!

Dexter appears in chapter 6 of the series judging the contest that Hareta and Jun enter. He is highly tolerant of their antics, including being hit by a Brine and Peck combination by Hareta's Piplup. However, when Jun's Staravia blows his hat off with Whirlwind, exposing his bald head, he loses his temper and disqualifies both Jun and Hareta from the contest.
