These moves have a higher-than-normal chance of being a critical hit. They start at [[critical hit|critical hit stage]] {{tt|2|Generation II-III}}/{{tt|1|Generation IV onward}}. They have a base critical-hit chance of {{tt|25%|Generation II-III}}/{{tt|12.5%|Generation IV onward}} instead of 6.25%.
These moves have an increased chance of landing a [[critical hit]]. This increase has dropped over time, being approximately 8× in [[Generation I]], 4× in [[Generation II]]-[[Generation III|III]], and 2× in [[Generation IV]] onward.
