Olivine City (Japanese: アサギシティ Asagi City) is located on the Johto coast, near Ecruteak City and Cianwood City.
Pokémon Trainers often come to Olivine City in order to win the Mineral Badge from Jasmine, the Olivine Gym Leader who specializes in Template:Type2 Pokémon.

Glitter Lighthouse
- Main article: Glitter Lighthouse
Olivine is home to the Glitter Lighthouse, illuminated by an Ampharos, aptly named Amphy. In Generation II, upon reaching Olivine City, Amphy is ill, and Jasmine refuses to leave his side until a special medicine arrives from Cianwood City with the help of the player.
S.S. Aqua
- Main article: S.S. Aqua
Olivine Port has a ferry to Vermilion City, the S.S. Aqua, only accessible after beating the Elite Four and getting the S.S. Ticket from Professor Elm. You can only ride it from Olivine City to Vermilion City on Monday's and Friday's due to the staff resting up.
Olivine Café
Olivine Café is a restaurant that is west of the Pokémon Center, and a sailor who eats there gives away HM04 (Strength) in Generation II.
Seal Girl
Once you have obtained the Seal Case in Generation IV, a young girl in the north-easternmost house of Olivine will give the player three random Seals once per day when one talks to her.
Demographics
Olivine City's population is 27, which is fairly high for a port city in Pokémon games.

Name origin
The name "Olivine" may come from the plant olive and the world vine, as Johto's cities are all named for plants. Another possible origin is in the mineral olivine. Asagi means light yellow (浅黄) or light blue (浅葱).
Trivia
- A remix of this town's music can be heard on Six and Seven Islands.
- The layout of the city is very similar to Sunyshore City with exits to the north and west of the city, two houses in the northeastern corner, a gym in the northwestern corner, and a lighthouse in the southeastern corner where the city's Gym Leader can first be found. TM57 is also available in both. This might also explain why Jasmine, the city's gym leader is found visiting Sunyshore City.
- There is programming in the game for a house in Olivine City that was not used in the final game. Inside, a woman mentions a pharmacy in Ecruteak City, not Cianwood City. This suggests that either the pharmacy could have been originally planned for Ecruteak City, or that Cianwood City may have been added to the game at the last minute.
- In the Japanese version of HeartGold and SoulSilver, Dusk Balls are sold at the Poké Mart instead of Heal Balls.
