Trainer stars are stars placed on the trainer card for an achievement. They were introduced in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, and carried through into all subsequent games of Generations III and IV.

Colors

For every star a trainer receives, their trainer card changes color.

Kanto

In Kanto, the colors are:

  • Blue at the beginning
  • Green upon receiving one star
  • Copper for two stars
  • Silver for three stars
  • Gold for four stars

Hoenn

In Hoenn, the colors are:

  • Blue at the beginning
  • Green upon receiving one star
  • Copper for two stars
  • Silver for three stars
  • Gold for four stars

Sinnoh

In Sinnoh, the colors are:

  • Red at the beginning
  • Blue upon receiving one star
  • Bronze for two stars
  • Silver for three stars
