Blaze (Ability): Difference between revisions

Blaze (Japanese: もうか Raging Flames) is an ability introduced in Generation III. Seventeen Pokémon can have this ability.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with Blaze uses a Fire-type move, the power will increase by 1.5x if the user has less than or equal to 33% of its maximum HP remaining.

Outside of battle

Blaze has no effect outside of battle.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, Blaze will deal double the damage if the Pokémon using it is below 25% of its HP.

Blaziken. Blaziken's body becomes surrounded by a fiery aura.

Chimchar Chimchar's body becomes surrounded by fire, or the flame on Chimchar's backside grows larger and its fire attacks become more powerful.

• Activated by Ash's Chimchar in Shapes of Things to Come!, Glory Blaze!, Tears for Fears!, and Chim-Charred!.

Monferno Monferno's eyes glow red and the flame on its tail grows to a massive size, powering up Monferno's Fire-type attacks.

• Activated by Ash's Monferno in Fighting Ire with Fire!.

Infernape Infernape's eyes glow red, and the flame on its head grows to a massive size. Its body also becomes surrounded by a fiery aura, and its Fire-type attacks are powered up.
