Unofficial release
These digital-only albums were released by Hollywood Manner and do not appear to have been licensed by Pokémon Korea:
- 포켓몬스터 (Original Soundtrack) - iTunes, Spotify
- 포켓몬스터 (Original Soundtrack), Vol.2 - iTunes, Spotify
- 포켓몬스터 (Original Soundtrack), Vol.3 - iTunes, Spotify
- 포켓몬스터 시리즈(Original Soundtrack) - iTunes, Spotify
Even though they were legally released, I don't think these releases of Bang Yong-seok's songs should be considered notable outside of Trivia (like Jason Paige's covers of the Pokémon Theme), and should at the very least not be treated on the same level as the official CD releases. - i'm not necessarily opposed to deletion - i was unaware it was an unofficial release, that's on me. however, would it not place on par with Pokémon Theme (single) in terms of notability? --ZestyCactus 13:18, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Collectively, these Korean releases might work as a page since they were all published by the original composer, but separately might be a bit much. I wouldn't want to link to it on other pages treating it as though it was an official release, though. And if we had a page on Bang Yong-seok himself, it would definitely deserve a mention there.
- In general, I would say there are different bars to clear for physical vs. digital releases. You can search for "めざせポケモンマスター" on iTunes or Spotify and find a few dozen covers of that song alone (especially since people can self-publish there), but you don't see all of those on CD (since they would then have to be published by an actual label). - Ok, that makes sense. I think either a group article as you suggested and/or an article about the composer with info on the releases would be a good idea. Fair point re: physical vs. digital releases. I’d like to keep this page for reference but we can move it to my user space. I’ll remove the notice templates so it doesn’t show up in any categories. And I can remove the links on the other pages tonight. --ZestyCactus 19:13, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
