RE: Signature

I will take it off, but may I know why they're not allowed? ~ Master of Illusion: Z User page 13:39, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

I think it has something to do with server problems, but I'm not sure. They were banned before I made my account. I just know by reading the policy. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 13:41, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Turtwig how do you put templates on pages then? rayquaza king 3000

You put {{ at the beginning, then put the parameters, with a | between each one. If they are numbered parameters, keep the parameters in the order of the numbers, with the | to separate them. If not, then put <PARAMETERNAME>=<WHATYOUPUTINTHEPARAMETER> and keep the | to separate them. After putting all of the parameter names, you put a }} at the end. If you don't get this, ask a more experienced user, such as one of the Administrators. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 15:16, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

How To Add

How do you add a picture/image on a section?Thanks.--Dbeckelheimer6 15:03, 10 August 2010 (UTC)Dillan Beckelheimer

You simply put [[File:<imagename>.<imageextension>]], with imagename being the name of the image and imageextension being the image's extension, that being png, jpg, gif, svg, etc. However, the image will only be displayed if it is uploaded onto the archives, where the wikis pictures are. If it is an external image, simply put the URL, and it'll be displayed. Hope this helps. If not, you might want to contact one of one of the archives' administrators. Deletion of the "Pokémon that run from battle" articles

I noticed the deletion notices said "Safari Zone only". Phanpy is found on Route 46 in GSC and can run from battle; Growlithe is on Route 37 and can run in addition to its Roar; Snubbull is on Route 38 and is KNOWN for running away. Just so you know. TailsDM 22:24, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello Turtwig!

Hey Turtwig, how's it going? Just thought I would say hi and introduce myself. I am a (sorta) new user here on Bulbapedia, and I was wondering if I could ask a small favor. Can I borrow your little navigation menu, I don't know what to call it, so I am going to go with "thingie". Obviously I would change it in order to make it "my" nav menu, and customize it to suit me, I just wanted to ask you, instead of just stealing it. Your nav menu is one of the simplest that I have seen, I just need one in order to link all of my pages, and I thought maybe if I asked nicely, you would let me borrow it. Thank you so much in advance. --JediKnightDTV 16:21, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

I'm okay with that. If you want the coding, it can be found here. Also, I believe the term is a navigator or navigation template. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 19:57, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks you very much Turtwig. I appreciate it. I will credit you when I put it up on my userpage, which hopefully will be soon, when I get done messing with it. --JediKnightDTV 00:20, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
There's really no need to credit me. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 00:34, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Well, I did it anyway. It is up now on my Userpage. You can check it out by clicking on the "Jediknight" part of my signature, in blue. For now, it is just on my mainpage. I am planning on putting it on my talkpage and my sandbox as well, but I ran out of edits, so I will do that tomorrow. Thanks again, Turtwig. --JediKnightDTV 05:42, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
It's on my talkpage and sandbox as well, now. Thanks again, Turtwig. --JediKnightDTV 14:22, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
You're welcome. You can also put a note of anyone being able to take the template if they wish if you want to. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 14:52, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Hello Turtwig i am a new member good job on editing the myths and legends page

Yeah, but Surskit and Masquerain are both bug types, then Onix and Steelix are both Ground types. So no matter what the evolution, I don't think there's any Pokemon that completely changes type. So with that, I still think it's safe to say Doryuuzu is a(t least partially) ground type. Jo The Marten 21:33, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Azurill and Marill. I could list other examples, but you could the point. Speculation is speculation no matter how obvious it may be. It could turn out to have a second-type as well. The game is only a week away from being released, I think we can wait. Jellotalk 21:36, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Alright. I was under the false impression that all that legendary speculation from Serebii was accepted so putting up Doryuuzu's type would be alright too. But seeing how all that info was just removed, I see where I was wrong. :P Jo The Marten 21:38, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Funny thing that even Serebii himself tells readers not to 100% put their trust on it. Better to be safe than sorry. Things like the dex order though, like evolutions after same region pre-evolutions, though is more pattern than speculation. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 21:46, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't trust Serebii. Reading all the stuff he said back when Ruby and Sapphire was being can't trust anything he says. I only listen to official sources like Pokémon Sunday, Coro Coro, and of course Pokémon Company themselves. Jo The Marten 21:58, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Not sure if this is the right place to go...

Would you be able to fix all the spelling errers on the List of Pokémon by National Pokédex number page. There are a lot of them like "Yoterii" and "Muuna". If you're not up for it, could you tell me who I should talk to? --EpicShadow 21:35, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

I can't, but I know who can. One of the Staff members. Go to one marked as "Active". Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 21:36, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Move Variants

Hey Turtwig A, I saw you removed moves from the Bulk Up variants template for having different PP amounts. Isn't a move a variant if it raises the same number of stats by the same number of levels? For example the Acid Armor variants template contains: Acid Armor with 40 PP, Agility with 30, Amnesia with 20 and Body Purge with 15, but they all raise one stat by two levels, or is that wrong? Pikiwyn talk 12:24, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Well I just removed them because the move variant page said they change PP as well. As I quote
Move variations are moves that are identical to each other in terms of damage, PP, and accuracy, but have different elemental types,
damage categories, or secondary effects. Below are the various move archetypes and the moves that fall into their categories.

It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 13:19, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I was just wondering. The article kind of contridicts itself though, it says the PP needs to be the same but then for some moves it has something like this "Variations of Acid Armor:

20, 30 or 40 PP, raises one of the user's stats by two stages" Pikiwyn talk 14:06, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Touché. I did put a note about deleting on the Acid Armor variation template's talk page too. I don't know what other ones have differing PPs, but this case should be brought to a staff member. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 16:51, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
Yes, it should, I just looked at the Move variations page again, and there are a lot of other templates that have moves with differing PP's in them. Pikiwyn talk 17:35, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
Okay then. I'll ask a staff member about this then. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 17:44, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm going to bring it up on the move variations talk page too. Pikiwyn talk 17:44, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

The Pokemon is from Japan. A similar Pokemon to national bird of Japan appeared. The national bird is made to associate it with the name. As for the complete denial, I feel your malice.
If my word is aggressive, it is a misunderstanding. Because my English is immature, it is very strange(lol Sawamular101 01:39, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I couldn't come up with a reply. As I really can't come up with anything else in my defense, I guess I'd have to agree with you. I think my biggest basis was on the Isshu based on America thing. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 02:29, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
The outlook on the world of isshu is strange.
1 The currency is Japanese yen.
2 The majority to live there is a Japanese name.
3 The provinces and the name of a town are Japanese names.
4 There are a lot of monsters of the Japan origin.
5 There is a similar hut to Shintoism, too.
The influence of Japan is very thick. Feelings of the person who insists that the element of Japan is obstructive can be understood. However, it is likely to change in the translation version. Sawamular101 02:48, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Those are interesting points. Though I think they are only doing that because its the Japanese version. America did have mini countries like China Town and Little Italy, maybe this could be a Japanese spin? There are some points on the other side of the fence too, such as:
1. American media seems to have been putting more focus on mythology later.
2. Shintoism could easily be practiced here in America

But still, your argument would win out in the end I guess, as I'm only putting weak points. All in all, though, I don't think the Green Pheasant is the entire basis of Kenhorou. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 03:02, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

The influence of Japan was thick, and I wanted to say that it was possible that national bird of Japan existed in isshu.
Do you understand the original edition? A Japanese version is the only original edition. A Japanese version is not a translation version. Sawamular101 03:12, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Yes I do understand that it is the original, and actually have been agreeing with you. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 11:15, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

unique base stat totals in trivia sections

So, if a Pokémon has a unique base stat total, it should not be mentioned in the trivia section for that Pokémon? - unsigned comment from Alex726 (talkcontribs)

I believe so. I've seen admins and many users I trust removing them. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 16:33, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

I just want to get an award and become a junior administrator, so why? Why did you make the PYC article, which is my best work, a candidate for deletion? Pokedex493 18:33, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Because it might not be considered notable enough. Bulbapedia has notability requirements for its articles, and just because an article is really well written (which yours is), doesn't mean it gets an article. Sorry if I came off a little too strong though, I'm a little rusty at wiki editing right now. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 19:08, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

I realized that this is pretty old but as far as sprites go, it doesn't matter if you use ndex or spritegender. Spritegender just adds a ShinyIVStar.png and just makes the template look fancier. ----NateVirus(Talk|Contributions) 04:49, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Can you block him? He keeps trying to add an ugly episode list to recurring character pages, something you and I are both against and was never put up for vote. He defied admin orders--SandmanDP 21:28, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Woah, 2 things.

1. I'm a Junior Admin, I couldn't block even if I thought this was block worthy. 2. Ruxax just reverted once, and his discussion did lead to a nice looking episode directory. That's more good than bad in my opinion, even if the head of anime doesn't like it. So in both points, Ruxax didn't really break any rules and thus there is no ground for being blocked. Books template vs Guides and activities

Hey, I noticed you used the standard book template on the book articles rather than the more specific Guides and Activity one. Is there a preferred one? Because your pages contradict the template I used on the book article I made. I personally think that the more specific one should be used because it fits in better with the rest of the articles on the template. What do you think? --Pokemaster97 00:05, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, the use of template:books was a mistake on my part, since template:GuidesandActivity was made to prevent more space on it. I'm just not in my right state of mind at the moment. Sorry, Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 00:12, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Yea it's ok. I was going to add blurbs to the articles anyway, so if you just want me to fix them while I do that, that would be fine with me. --Pokemaster97 00:21, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
It'd be awesome if you could, thanks. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 00:22, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Deerling mini-game

I'm not sure if you've played it yet, but I'm trying to see what points are allotted for each trophy, hence why I created a page here. If possible, we need to fill it up and make it into a pretty table. I'll work on the table later in the week, but this is all the info I could get at the moment. ht14 02:20, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I haven't gotten around to playing the more recent games yet, but I'll see what else I can get for the points per trophy thing. Thanks for showing me this. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 00:25, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

I've edited pages before- not huge masses of text, but edits nonetheless- and yet I still can't create new pages or make a Userspace. I was planning on creating a new page corresponding to something in the new games (which I'm highly surprised doesn't exist already) but I can't for some reason. It says to contact an active staff member if you don't fit into any of the categories, so I did. Help?

--MohacastleHear My Roar 21:20, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

All I can say is try making many more edits. There is a magic number, but no one knows what it is, so as long as you can hit it, you'll be able to make new pages. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 02:56, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Username Change?

I couldn't find a way to contact you besides here, but I was wondering can I get my name changed to "Willi096" in any way? By the way this is Willi, from that fan game. Willi096 (talk) 05:51, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Uh, I'm not capable of performing a name change. Might be best to contact a member of the editorial board. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 16:20, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the help!

Glad you decided to pitch in on the Maractus game. My computer just doesn't want to load it for some reason; this computer's CPU-hungry antivirus may be to blame, but I have to check that out to make sure (though it did let me play the other games, so I could contribute). Currently, I'm working on trophy tables which will replace the bulleted trophy lists that are in there right now. These tables used to be owned by a fellow contributor, but he moved it to my area when I asked for permission to help out with the tables so I can work on it. They are works in progress right now as you can see. Here's where they stand right now:

  • Deerling: Needs just the point value for Jackpot Trophy, and it'll be done and ready to be incorporated into the article. I have some estimates, but I need help confirming the value, as I never manage to get the trophy.
  • Gothita: 16 trophies don't have published requirements or points, and 3 don't have point values yet.
  • Joltik: 7 trophies need published requirements and points, and Low Link needs a point value.
  • Maractus: Needs a lot of work, lol. Just saying that right now.

As it stands, I do allow others to fill any missing info as long as the main format remains untouched, as it's destined for the mainspace. However, if you feel like I should fill them in myself, feel free to send me the missing info you have so I can fill it in. If you think I should place them in the mainspace as they are, I can do that, too. Thanks! Berrenta (talk) 23:52, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

No prob on the Maractus game; I had problems loading it too, but I refreshed the page a couple times and it finally worked for me.
As for the trophy article, that may be a nice idea to replace the trophy lists. I had no idea the page would become this big when I made it, and the trophies give it a huge length.
I was contemplating putting the trophy descriptions alongside them, but I decided not to in the end since it'd be inconsistent. I can help out with the trophies once my exams are over for this semester, but I'd rather you clear the mainspacing with an editorial board member rather than myself due to my low amount of edits recently.
So yeah, thanks for doing this insane amount of work. I hope all these achievements aren't making you go crazy alongside whatever you have to do in real life. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 02:35, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I'll see what the editorial board has to say. I'm always happy to help when it comes to articles. Berrenta (talk) 03:31, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

I am wanting to make new pages, but i haven't done enough edits, or been a member long enough. So in the meantime I am doing edits, but when I was editing Eevee's trivia I noticed that although sun ribbon works, lunar ribbon doesn't. Is there a way to add redirects to the Mystery Dungeon evolutionary items page?

For now i just did the renamed link.IVsaur (talk) 17:14, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

If you were to capitalize the titles properly, you would see that those links work fine. See? Sun Ribbon and Lunar Ribbon work. ht14 16:08, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
Yeah what Ht said, if you wanna redirect though, just click the redlink and set it to the page its on, with the section after a # in between, so for Lunar Ribbon it'd be #REDIRECT[[Mystery Dungeon evolutionary items#Lunar Ribbon]] on the page labeled lunar ribbon. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 15:34, 19 January 2013 (UTC)

Got it, thanks!IVsaur (talk) 02:36, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

tt marks

When you have something that needs to have a tt mark and the same type of thing happens multiple times, ie: Yancy's trades, does it need to be repeated? I just learned that you cant trade her eggs, so i put that on as a tt mark, but only on Meowth for now. --EVsAndIVsaurs (Talk) 19:23, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

It's probably not notable enough but Trip's first battle he was still fighting at a disadvantage due to Ash having the experience edge. So a experience disadvantage still counts as a disadvantage none the less.

J-Keni (talk) 05:38, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

That's probably a disadvantage, but if you count that, you have to count a myriad of other things, meaning everyone is at a disadvantage every battle. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 05:55, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

That is true. Well at least you got what I was going at.
