A Control Cube is a special device created by the organization Unitas to control Pokémon. When under the influence of a Control Cube, the Pokémon loses its free will and has to do whatever the controller commands. The Pokémon has no memories of anything that happened while they were under the influence of a Control Cube.

Chapter 1 - seen controlling Turner's Cramorant
Chapter 2 - Unitas tries to capture Mewtwo using Control Cubes
Chapter 3 - Pikachu gets firsthand experience with a Control Cube because they're being put on every Pokémon at the detention center
Chapter 5 - Tim and Rachel find out that Mayer Meyers is planning to start using Control Cubes all over Ryme City, under the name Friendship Cubes, with the belief that they'll help bring people and Pokémon closer together. He doesn't realize what they do to Pokémon, and once Tim and Rachel explain that to him, he calls off the Control Cube project.
