WashRotom debuted in Taking the Next Steps, where Diana explained that it took a liking to her old washing machine and decided to possess it. She then selected it and her Arcanine in a Double Battle against Liko's Meowscarada and Charcadet. While being used in an offensive manner, Rotom's role was also that of a supportive one, using its Discharge to block incoming attacks while protecting its partner. It was ultimately defeated after Charcadet swung it around by its hose before dealing a knockout Take Down attack.
Personality and characteristics
True to its species, Rotom is a very mischievous Pokémon; as noted by Diana, it enjoys spraying its water all around itself, even during the middle of a battle. Nevertheless, it follows Diana's commands and focuses on a battle should its Trainer order it to. Diana seems quite fond of Rotom, calling it adorable after it used its Hydro Pump to spray water all over the battlefield during her battle with Liko.
