The following morning, you and your Mother will be out on the porch, when somboby shows up at the front door. Your Mom instructs you to answer it. Before you can even reach the front door however, Professor Kukui will let himself in. He's here to invite you to the Iki Town festival, but before that, he want to teach you the basics of being a trainer, and tells you to meet him on Route 1.

Route 1

Kuikui will call out to you, leading you to the east side of Route 1 this time. When you catch up to him, Kukui will then demonstrate how to capture a wild Pokémon, and even hands you 10 Poké Balls so you can try catching them yourself. You'll also be gifted 5 Potions for healing your party. But if you want to save your potions, you can always head back home and talk to Mom in order to heal your party. She'll even give you an extra Poké Ball if you do!
