Template talk:TCG Releases
Hi there
I'd like to propose something slightly subtler and more compact/streamlined. I am all for colour and roundy boxes but this just seems a bit too big, bulky and bright SuiScorpio 15:13, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

Gang → Team
Translating 団 as "gang" is misleading, since the word simply means a group or team (company, etc), and can simply be used for gangs. As such, I've been editing pages that contain this misleading translation from "Gang" to "Team", but I don't have permissions to edit this template, as far as I know (I don't edit wiki that often, maybe I'm just missing how). If someone could edit "Rocket Gang" to "Rocket Team", and direct the link to http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Team_Rocket_%28TCG%29 instead of the redirect link, I would appreciate your help. Aurora Blast and Storm Rider
I thought the two Theme Decks from Roaring Skies are Aurora Blast and Storm Rider? Can you update, please? Thanks for your help! --Yen01 (talk) 07:49, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
Collapsible
This template should be collapsible. It's a huge template and it takes up more than half the page in a lot of circumstances. --celadonk (talk) 19:34, 26 March 2019 (UTC)

VSTAR Premium Trainer Box
Should the VSTAR Premium Trainer Box (TCG) be added to the SwSh JP section? The cards all have the symbol sK Mukario (talk) 16:11, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
Request to add Pokémon Demo Game (TCG)
Hey there! I just created the page Pokémon Demo Game (TCG) for the promo booster deck that was released back in 1998. I'd like to request that an administrator add it in front of "Trainer Deck A and B" in the Original Series section as it came out before them. Thank you! King Kerog (talk) 10:33, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- I took care of it. Thanks for writing the page! It's well sourced and looks great. Great work! MaverickNate 00:01, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
Suggestion
Is it possible to make combine two different TCG template inputs into a single template by making the second input? It would be redundant to see this page as example. AKUro? あくロちゃん 07:00, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
Possible change to Chinese releases?
Currently, when using this template, {{TCG Releases|ATCG}} displays a selection of four regional releases: Thai, Indonesian, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. I definitely see the benefit of grouping Indonesian, Thai, and Traditional Chinese together; the first two overlap quite a lot, while they both also overlap with Traditional Chinese on occasion. However, I'd like to put forward the idea of splitting Simplified Chinese out of this group, possibly to use {{TCG Releases|SCTCG}} or something like that. Because of how far behind they are - and trying aggressively to catch up - there's currently zero overlap with the others, and there are a lot more releases, which unnecessarily fills out the template on product pages for the three other regions. I'd suggest moving Traditional Chinese below Thai/Indonesian and having it fill out a full row so those three can continue to be displayed together, then having Simplified Chinese called separately, again filling out a full row. Does anyone have any objections to splitting out Simplified Chinese, or suggestions on better ways of doing it? Cipher (talk) 20:31, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- In my honest opinon, rather than further split things up, we should find a way to redesign the template so that all languages can be shown in the same template (for each series). I dont really think it benefits us having the non-japanese asian sets walled off (in terms of navigation) the in the way we do, and it would I think be better to for example have all the Sun & Moon sets from every language in the same template (and the same for later series). Increasing exposure to these sets will also inevitably increase awareness and imo that can only be a positive. 4iamking 20:41, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- Something like that briefly crossed my mind before, actually. Given how some of the Asian sets are now split by series due to the volume of releases, I did wonder if something like that would be worth investigating. Certainly for Simplified Chinese, given the volume of unique releases, handling it a different way might be worthwhile. Cipher (talk) 08:05, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
