If Skill Swap is used on a Pokémon with this ability by a Pokémon that's been in battle for more than five turns, will the ability affect the user? Whatever the answer may be, it should be put on this page. TorchicBlaziken (talkedits) 15:30, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, Skill Swap resets the ability so the Pokémon that recieves Slow Start will have its stats lowered for five turns. TESHIGIGAS 15:49, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Can you use psych up on a Pokemon with heightened to undo the effects of Slow Start? Kyurem6667 22:15, 12 April 2012.

worry seed

Does worry Seed work on a pokémon with slow start? since it can't be used on a pokemon with truant. Mijzelffan 16:31, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes. I have done this in Doubles teaming up Regigigas with Whimsicott, and Whimsicott has Prankster, so it got rid of Regi's ability, and I am pretty sure it went back up to full power after losing Slow Start Sailor Mercury Fanboy (talk) 01:34, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

I'd assume that the effect can be removed by hitting someone with Mummy nowadays? Haven't tried it or anything. Raienbrasa (talk) 03:20, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Technically, it should. If Technician is cancelled out when afflicted by Mummy, in theory so should Slow Start. Ewkay (talk) 20:17, 18 March 2013 (UTC)
Upon further inspection, it would seem it is affected by Mummy. Ewkay (talk) 15:59, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Slow Start failing to restore stats when removed in Japanese DP

According to this article, in the Japanese versions of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, when Slow Start is removed it doesn't remove the effects of Slow Start. However, as Chickasaurus states in this post on Glitch City Labs, this doesn't seem to be the case, as you can see in this video and this video. Can anyone verify that it does occur? --SnorlaxMonster 11:24, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
