fate of fallen/dropped ingredients/bread
should it be mentioned in the article or a trivia section that any ingredients that fall off the sandwich or is otherwise dropped by the player is quickly claimed and devoured by the player's Pokémon with their cry indicating who has snatched the sandwich ingredient in question? - Is there any indication that they're "claiming and eating" dropped ingredients? If there was an accompanying "eating sound effect" along with the cry, then it's a feasible explanation, but just the Pokémon's cry alone could just as easily be them essentially complaining/scolding you for messing up the sandwich, or a general reaction to you dropping it. - It appears there is an accompanied sound of eating. I made a sandwich and dropped several different ingredients and there were crunch sounds, scarfing down sounds and other sound effects that accompanied the cries from the Pokémon in the party. Yamitora1 (talk) 04:07, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
Decision of Meal Power if second-highest flavors are tied?
I am having trouble making a sandwich because of this. I am unsure of if this is something that is known. Arzatium (talk) 03:30, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- The source linked for meal power math doesn't mention anything about what happens if the second-highest flavors are tied, so I can only assume we'll have to do trial and error to figure it out. I did find this sandwich simulator that can help with the math, but since it is an unofficial fan thing, we'll need to make the sandwiches in-game to make sure the simulator's results are accurate. For what it's worth, I tested a sandwich with sweet as the highest flavor and salty/sour tied as the second-highest flavors, and the resulting sandwich treated sweet as the highest flavor and salty as the second-highest flavor. - Update: Tried making 10 different sandwiches where the second-highest flavors are tied and the simulator correctly predicted the resulting powers for all of them. It seems that the flavors have a priority just like the types do: sweet > salty > sour > bitter > hot. For example, when the highest flavor is sweet and the second-highest flavors are tied as bitter and sour, the flavor value bonus of the sandwich will be the sweet + sour one, Catching Power. This priority bracket also explains the results of the table for the meal powers being tied - whichever flavor is higher in the priority list is treated as the highest flavor when calculating the flavor value. The same logic also works for determining the meal power when there's a three-way or four-way tie for the highest flavor. And if you somehow managed to construct a sandwich where all five flavor values are equal, it would be treated as a sweet + salty sandwich = bonus to Egg Power.
