Name

Is "Puzzle Continent" the official English name for this region? Because it sounds like a very awkward mistranslation to me, the correct translation would be "Mystery Continent" or "Mysterious Continent". --Maxim (talk) 19:01, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

To be honest, I have seen it interpreted both ways, and I can see it being a wise move to merge it with Mysterious continent if it suits everyone else. However, I do think in an odd sort of way, puzzle fits well, as it seems to almost slot together different environments. Of course, this is a flourish that I don't think the creators of it intended, so please, don't take my mutterings too seriously! Fizzyade (talk) 21:37, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Considering we literally translate it as "Mysterious Continent" in the article itself, it seems like that should just be what the title is. Landfish7 12:42, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I agree that it should move to "Mysterious Continent". That is what I have seen it referred to as in the very few English language sources I have been able to dig up. I've never seen the name "Puzzle Continent" before. I have actually gathered a collection of images and magazine scans for the continent, but that probably belongs in a new section on the talk page so please see below if your interested. I’ve been trying to hunt down any additional photos from this region. Do you mind sharing those? For some reason, @MechaMew5000’s link isn’t working. MrBigChip (talk) 06:45, 15 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure what's happening there, it seems like Imgur may have deleted the post for some reason? I'm gonna try to reupload the whole set to Archive.org soon. MechaMew5000 (talk) 18:16, 18 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

More info and images

As stated above I have a collection of images related to this region that have probably spent close to 10 years on and off collecting, with the intent of eventually making an article. But, since someone else beat me to it, I have compiled everything into an Imgur album.

It's mostly magazine scans from CoroCoro and Pokemon Card Trainer. I'll let someone else decide if any of them are worth adding to the Wiki, but at the very least maybe some useful info can be gleaned from the Japanese text. MechaMew5000 (talk) 18:32, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

New link because it disappeared from imgur for some reason MechaMew5000 (talk) 06:41, 19 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for these, do you know if trainers magazine 18 had a full size version of the final map? As far as I can tell the idea was to have the map update and fill in with new details with each set released, and the version we have on the article is from Split Earth and so is missing any detail on the mysterious mountain, you can actually see a small version of the final map in this image. I'm pretty sure that is the only image. Some one uploaded the first 21 issues of trainer mag to an old Pokemon forum several years ago, and I have re-uploaded them here:[1]https://archive.org/details/trainer-mag-9 MechaMew5000 (talk) 23:46, 6 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
hmm interesting, it seems like the release of gen 3 might have ended up overshadowing the planned release so the e-series kinda ended with a fizzle. Checking again I think this image might be a larger version of the final map (you can see the lakes below the central mountain are different shapes than in the split earth version), but it's pretty hard to tell through the page crease and I can't find it on the corocoro archive I use, do you know where that page is from? Jump Drive (talk) 17:47, 7 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
iirc, that was from a sale listing I happened to find on either eBay, or a similar Japanese auction site. I'm fairly certain it was a corocoro issue. If you're referring to the corocoro scans on zoidsland.com, then you should know that the site owner didn't actually scan every page, just a selection of pages he found interesting. yeah I was mostly hoping to try and figure out what month's issue it came from, given the set was released in October and the December issue is already talking about the ruby and sapphire era cards I assume it must be in either the October or November issues. There's actually a copy of the 2002 October issue for sale right now, I'm honestly half tempted to just buy it and pray lol Jump Drive (talk) 23:23, 7 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
