Your pokemon to real world map
Thank you for making a comprehensive map for the regions. May I suggest some fixes to your map?
1. I think it should be clear on which regions are from the main series, side series and spin off series.
2. For the Japanese regions, rather than using prefectures as the borders of the regions, I think it'd be better if you'd use a general border line for them (it's usually not clear where the borders of the regions are in universe except Kanto/Johto). Fiore for example, looks big in comparison to the in game map.
3. For Sinnoh, please include the disputed Kunashir island and the surrounding islands if necessary for the Pokemon league.
4. Places like Unova and Kitakami, isn't that massive in terms of location as shown on your map. I think it'd be best as "pin points" or something similar if it's too small. (Unova doesn't extend through the whole of New York, but only the New York Metro area for example. And Kitakami is centered in a mountain in Aomori.
5. Paldea on the map doesn't include the Catalonia area. Instead, it is inaccessible in game and in the in game map.
6. Orre extends a bit more into California/Baja California.
7. I don't think showing US state borders nor the Japanese Prefectures is relevant for the map. I think generally, maps showing US state borders is to- US-centric. I think it's best to leave it as country borders as a good middle ground.
Generally, I think it's best to make it similar to what is shown in game/official map art etc.
Again, thank you for making the map. I think it's mostly well done. Pipcrew (talk) 10:14, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
Editing comments
Please avoid editing your comments where possible. It makes it hard to track the discussion and can interrupt people trying to respond, and it also renders the time stamp inaccurate. If you need to add context, please leave a new comment with its own signature and time stamp instead, though consider using the preview buton to make sure you've said everything you'd like to say, as to limit the need to make consecutive comments.
As for the experimental table you're working on there, it may be better for you to move it to a user page or draft so it can be worked on independently from the talk page - feel free to link to it from there. Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions. Landfish7 15:48, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- my bad, I have a bad habit of posting something, immediately realizing I need to make a small edit, and then after that edit immediately spotting another thing I need to change. If I'd realized how many edits I was going to end up making I definitely would have made a sandbox page but oh well. I'll try to avoid doing it again in future (honestly just properly proofreading before i hit submit would get rid of at least half of the edits) - Jump Drive (talk) 19:19, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- No worries. Happens to the best of us lol Landfish7 13:30, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
