Galarian Corsola & Cursola

Like the description, if the regional variants of the Pokemons that will be imported to Winds & Waves shown in the Extrapolated forms section, shouldn't it evolution be considered as well? AntiHero1989 (talk) 05:23, 28 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

We can't really know for a fact that the galarian forms will be available in-game. RaZZeR9351 (talk) 10:23, 24 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Every Pokemon that appeared in SwSh and SV also had their regional variants included along with them; so given that it's reasonable to have Cursola and other regional variants with their evolutions as extrapolated species. CobbyHWABAG (talk) 23:43, 23 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Gyarados cloud

The article mentions the Gyarados shaped cloud but doesn't mention that it is very much not confirmed to be a Gyarados, it is also theorized by many to be entirely unrelated to Gya and moreso linked to the regional legendaries. Granted Magikarp has been in literally every single mainline game so its absence is super unlikely. RaZZeR9351 (talk) 10:29, 24 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Or it could be literally nothing, or something entirely unexpected like the obscured Poké Pelago on the Alola map. Personally it reminds me of the storm clouds from roaming with Lati@s in ORAS. I think drawing a connection to Gyarados is speculation. WOLKsite (talk) 23:24, 28 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Switch 1 release possible

Does anyone know whether this will be released for the original Switch as well?

I’m curious because Pokémon Winds and Waves has been discussed as a major new entry, but it’s still not fully clear what hardware it’s targeting. With Nintendo’s newer systems in the picture, I’m wondering whether the original Switch will still get support, or if this is shaping up to be a next-gen-only release.

If there’s been any official confirmation, developer statement, or even a strong pattern from past Pokémon releases that points one way or the other, I’d love to hear it. The Switch has had a long life and a huge user base, so a cross-generation release would make a lot of sense — but I also wouldn’t be surprised if The Pokémon Company starts moving more aggressively toward newer hardware.

At this point, I think it’s worth asking whether the original Switch owners should expect to be included, or whether this game is likely to be reserved for the next console generation. Any source-backed info would be appreciated.

No it its likeily a switch 2 exclusive. If there was a Switch 1 release, they would have revealed it around same time as first reveal. Given how it looks, this may not be something the switch 1 casn handle. Jacob9594 (talk) 15:06, 23 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
...Are you using genAI to write your talk page posts now? That's quite disappointing. Zyxyz (talk) 15:14, 23 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Per several sources - including the games' official website as well as other pages on Pokemon.com - Winds and Waves are being released "exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2". If they were coming to both Switch and Switch 2, it's almost guaranteed that would have been confirmed as part of the Pokémon Presents announcement; at this point, there'd be no benefit to Nintendo or TPC/TPCi announcing Switch versions of the games. If anything, they'd likely come in for criticism, especially following the performance issues that Scarlet and Violet faced on the system. That's not to say it won't happen, but it's extremely unlikely that it will. Cipher (talk) 15:57, 23 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
