Mentioning Red in the intro text

As I mentioned before in the split discussion, the current name "Pikachu (Yellow)" is the best one for this article in my opinion, since it's short and to the point. However, "Red's Pikachu (Yellow)" would be correct too. This a variant of Red's Pikachu in some continuity, more or less like the articles Red's Pikachu (Pocket Monsters) or Pika.

Shouldn't the "Pikachu (Yellow)" article at least mention Red in the intro text?

This is the first line at the moment:

Pikachu is the first partner Pokémon given to the player by Professor Oak at the start of Pokémon Yellow.

Maybe we could mention Red like this (or some other way, I don't mind the specific wording):

Pikachu is the first partner Pokémon given to the player character Red by Professor Oak at the start of Pokémon Yellow.

If we had an article for the starting Eevee in Pokémon XD, the article title could be something like "Eevee (XD)" but it would still probably mention Michael somewhere in the intro text. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 12:32, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Since the player character is actually named by the person playing the game, we generally avoid referring to them by their "official name" in this sort of context. Landfish7 00:19, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
If the scope of the article went beyond just the player's Pikachu in Yellow to address appearances of Red's Pikachu in other media, then yes we might call it "Red's Pikachu", but that's what the main Red's Pikachu article is for. Landfish7 00:21, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
