merge this onto event item possibly as a subsection

Since there really isnt a special list for these, and we already have a page listing general event items, I'd suggest we merge this list onto Event item, with the possibility of having it as a subsection. There really isn't that much thats different about these. 4iamking 23:52, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

I disagree that the pages should be merged. The Event item page lists items that are distributed via external means I.e. Mystery Gift, whereas event items in Pokopia are items that appear at certain times of year in the game itself and will be repeated each year. This list would be expanded when we get to each new event. Drjwho (talk) 00:01, 16 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's worth noting that the mystery gift function is identical to the one use in the main series (a product of it being a Game Freak developed game). Sure the items distributed so far have been given through the ingame event but its also entirely possible that there is stuff that exists that can only be distributed via mystery gift, we just dont know that without being able to datamine the game, but the systems for such distributions do exist. 4iamking 00:04, 16 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
If they do release any items exclusively via mystery gift then that should be added to the Event item page, though with the 3D printer in the Pokemon Center there is a way to get any item in-game without mystery gift. For example the Plant that is given as an pre-order bonus code.
However this page is for in-game Event items. I think there's enough of a difference that they should be separate. There's already separate pages for Pokopia Events and Pokopia Distributions. The difference is the same here. Drjwho (talk) 00:13, 16 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
I mean we really haven't had events like this where the activation is hardcoded into the game at certain time intervals in any game before; our definition is a bit flexible, it is a bit of a grey area but since the game calls them event items I think we can too. But yeah any of the early mystery gift items aren't really that special, you dont even need to print the plant theres a few in Skylands you can just steal so really under any definition we wouldn't call it an event item.. as for the Ditto rug well thats outright craftable. Its worth noting that our event definition isnt limited to Mystery gift, we've considered tournament exclusive rewards and raid den items to be "event exclusives" if there are no other ingame sources for the item. 4iamking 00:23, 16 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
My point was that since there exists a method in game to get items through the 3D printer without it being time based or by playing the event. These items dont fall under the same parameters as event items in the main series. Drjwho (talk) 11:54, 22 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Late to the convo but I just wanted to add that this page exists specifically because there's a separate list in the in-game Collection menu for event items. The items listed on the event item page have no such in-game distinction, so merging the two lists makes zero sense. Storm Aurora (talk) 16:54, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
imo its good to have a page with a complete list of items in thee game, the collection tab is a parameter to list in the row but I dont see why we should carve these out of the main list. I wish we had a corpus to see how they are indexed ingame but id be a bit surprised if it's a completely seperate list. 4iamking 17:12, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm not opposed to adding the items on this page to the main list of items in Pokopia, but I think there's merit in leaving this page as-is because it groups the items by event. So if someone is trying to complete their event collection, they can figure out which items they're missing and then easily navigate to the page for the event to see what time they need to wait for (or time-travel to) to obtain the items they're missing.
