Question

What are the numbers after the first and recent expansions for? --TotallyTob 05:00, 16 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Never mind; I realize it now. --TotallyTob 05:13, 16 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Deletion request

There are a lot of stub articles about TCG artists in the Category:TCG stubs and almost none of them say anything more than what could be concluded from this article here, which is what cards they illustrated, and it seems there is not much more to say anyway. I think it would be better if these articles were deleted and redirected here. If anybody has anything more to write about these people, they could recreate their articles again.--Rocket Grunt 20:29, 1 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Illustrator articles

Just a thought but... do we really need a stub article on every single illustrator that has done at least one TCG card? Why can't they all just be contained here (like minor voice actors)? Articles like this, or this, or this, or countless others (which look bot-generated, by the way) really contribute nothing to this Wiki. They just take up space. --Maxim (talk) 11:16, 15 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi there! As each illustrator has contributed to more than just individual cards, the pages are there to help us catalogue their other efforts as we find them. The cards are just the easiest credits to find at the start before we branch the articles into something more like here or here. Recent sets have introduced a ton of new illustrators, so a lot of these pages are still a bit brief. But little by little we’re adding more and more info, so that will definitely change! It's all up to admins anyway, but I can already feel it coming that someday we'll be mass deleting those stub articles, just like we mass-deleted articles on minor VAs or shippings back in the day. But who knows... If it was up to me, I'd say that creating a two-sentence article "just in case something more happens so it can finally be expanded" is not the way to go and I wouldn't do it until more coverable content appears (and if never does, then said illustrator simply isn't worthy of an article). But if admins don't mind that, then neither do I. --Maxim (talk) 18:16, 15 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
It's less 'if' something more happens and more, 'when' we start cataloguing the other contributions that already happened. We have unlimited space on the wiki, so it's not like they're exactly competing with for space with anything. MaverickNate 02:37, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

TCG Pocket illustrators

Was looking at covering TCG Pocket illustrators similarly to what's been done for physical TCG, either on this page or on a separate page. Threw up something basic here, though I'm soliciting any and all input.

A couple of things I wanted feedback on:

  • Should the TCG Pocket illustrators fit on this page? 98% of the Pocket illustrators have also done work for the TCG, so it wouldn't be a huge lift to adapt the existing main table to include links to their TCGP categories, or they could get something separate further down.
  • How should a list of TCGP illustrators be formatted? The inclusion of first and last sets illustrated for can be useful for determining a time period of when someone was contributing artwork, but since TCGP relies primarily on classic TCG art, that's less useful for TCGP. Is there anything else that should be considered?
