'Isle of Armor Pokédex' Redirect

Could someone add a redirect from Isle of Armor Pokédex to this page? There's a similar redirect in place for Galar Pokédex, and I think it'd make it slightly easier to find. I'd do this myself, but it doesn't seem like I've made enough edits to create a page, redirect or otherwise. –Ben10do (talk) 10:48, 26 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

The existing shortcut IoAdex should be good enough, but based on this idea I've created the redirect Kitakami Pokédex, since that doesn't have a shortcut. Blueapple128 (talk) 00:30, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Merge

We are looking at merging the pages...

into the first. User:Oneofthosedf/List of Pokémon by Galar Pokédex number is the proposed merged page. This is largely meant to address a problem with Pokedex entries on species pages where they can't link to the separate IoA/CT pages, such as Skwovet (Pokémon)#Game data.

Any thoughts? Tiddlywinks (talk) 14:55, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Is the Pokédex entries problem just an underlying template problem (could it be fixed by changing the template)? Blueapple128 (talk) 00:30, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I know this is a late reply, but this seems like a helpful change, so I'm in favor of making it happen. Storm Aurora (talk) 04:09, 13 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I like the idea, save a lot of back tracking. Plus a lot of fun trivia to find in one spot. Jacob9594 (talk) 04:13, 13 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

I don't think this merge should happen unless Kitakami Pokédex and Blueberry Pokédex also get merged to Paldea Pokédex. I know that in-universe those places aren't in Paldea (although the Blueberry Pokédex does include some Pokémon at the end that are actually only found in Paldea or Kitakami), but functionally they're additional Pokédexes for DLC areas, exactly the same as the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra Pokédexes. How would you even make that work with the in-game Pokedex images? Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 01:13, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I dont think this merge should happen either for the simple reason that they are seperate Pokédex's and defined. The species pages should be updated to link to this page rather than the Galar dex tbh because the Galar Pokédex is defined as a totally seperate Pokédex in things like HOME (not to mention SwSh itself). 4iamking 06:33, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I don't see how the images would change anything. The idea is that it'd still be separate lists, just on the same page. To be clear though, I don't actually want that merge or the Galar Pokédex merge to happen, I just think it'd be especially silly if we merged one but not the other. I agree that we should solve the linking problem by just changing the links on the species pages. Hewer (talk) 08:30, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
To suggest the same idea as on Lumiose Pokédex list: How about an additional page for all Pokemon available in the game (even those without Pokédex numbers)? This page would be sorted by natdex and contain the numbers for all pokedexes available in game. This wouldn't have to have the Pokédex images, and could contain only the species artwork. In my opinion, this ideas would be better than the current Compatible Pokémon not in any Pokédex sections. → SuperPikaPool13 10:44, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah my stance on that hasn't changed. But I think it should be a new page and the links on the species pages still also need to be corrected. 4iamking 10:48, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Is the issue on species pages just the fact that the links go to Galar Pokédex instead of Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra Pokédexes? I think that can be corrected simply by taking the "Galar" prefix out, instead simply letting them be IoA and CT Dex numbers. I think the prefix being used is due to following the format of Kalos Dex, but Central, Coastal and Mountain are subsets of Kalos Dex, whereas IoA and CT Dex are shown fully separate from Galar Dex. (We can simply add a link override parameter to the template too.) → SuperPikaPool13 11:01, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Honesly I might be in the minority but I kinda feel even for Kalos; it should be 3 different pages since they follow distinct number schemes that restart from #001. For updating the species yeah its pretty simple; we just have to update the first 905 pokemon to use the {{Dex/Gen/5|gen=VIII|reg1=Galar|reg2=Isle of Armor|reg3=Crown Tundra|reg4=Sinnoh|reg5=Hisui}} format for the gen 8 header, and discontinue the use of label parameters in the header (the missing dex's should also be added). 4iamking 11:25, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I agreed with king, cause lets be honest, putting them all on the same page made it too big and can be hard to track. By making the pages for like save Kalos, makes it easier to find certain pokemon or dex. I say go for as eaxh dex is different and never the same. Jacob9594 (talk) 13:37, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
My other reasoning I add is there isn't a combined "Kalos" dex like there is for Alola. To me it doesn't make sense to try and pretend that thats a thing. 4iamking 13:54, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Agreed, given Kalos Dex was like a one time thing as no other pokedex repeated this feat. Jacob9594 (talk) 14:32, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I really think the easiest compromise here is to have separate dex pages for the regions/subregions and the games. Kitakami and Blueberry are in no way part of Paldea, and the Isle of Amor and Crown Tundra are in no way not part of Galar. So we'd have an XY Pokédex page, and three Kalos pages. Same with Galar, one SwSh page, three Galar pages. One SV page, and separate dex pages for the three different regions within. One ZA page, one Lumiose page, one Hyperspace page. We could also differentiate them by the art we use/don't use.
IMO it's much better than to actively fight against an option to have a sortable SwSh dex with all subdexes. Being vehemently against that and dragging it out for years feels silly to me. It's not like these are huge pages, we could easily accommodate this compromise. Oneofthosedf (talk) (contribs) 16:07, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I do think that between the discussion on the Z-A dex talk page and here that we are all on board with this; it's just something that needs implementation at this point. 4iamking 16:43, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
