Card Name

The card's title is clearly Imposter Professor Oak. Shouldn't all mentions of "Impostor" be changed to reflect this? -Frost 06:40, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Base Set 2 print was Impostor. Later print is law to the TCG. Thanks for asking first, though. TTEchidna 09:00, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
I have a Base Set 2 card that uses "Imposter". Does anyone actually have a scan of it saying "Impostor"? - plau 14:23, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
I don't see why we can't change it to "Imposter" since we have a picture proving it..? Han Ji-Wan 17:17, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
Never mind... I just read the trivia.... It's... stupid. T_T Han Ji-Wan 17:21, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
Hate to bump a 3-year-old topic, but I'm not convinced that this Trivia is accurate. Not only do I own a Base Set 2 print that says "Imposter", but a simple Google Image Search for "Imposter Professor Oak Base Set 2" (using either spelling) comes up with a lot of scans of Base Set 2 cards that all say "Imposter". I have yet to see one that says "Impostor". Perhaps the article name should be changed? --GoldenSandslash15 (talk) 14:45, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
Honestly, I noticed this recently as well. My boyfriend gave me a bunch of his TCG cards and one of them was a Base Set 2 Impostor Professor Oak, and it was spelled "Imposter" with the e. I remembered thinking about this debate and wondering if there must have been a later print run with the spelling corrected, but now I doubt it. Also backing up the lack of correction is the fact that the Team Rocket "Imposter Oak's Revenge" is also spelled wrong. --ZestyCactus 17:59, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
I'm honestly thinking it is just a morphed version of a trivia that used to talk about the other Impostor Oak cards. The page is incorrect as it stands. Feel free to remove the trivia and move the page. MaverickNate 18:02, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
A quick eBay search reveals both Impostor being used for first edition and later edition runs of the Base Set Print, both have Copyrights 95, 96, 98 and 99 Nintendo Creatures. Imposter was also used for the Base Set print, with Copyrights 95, 96 and 98 Nintendo Creatures. Imposter was used solely for Base Set 2, again Copyright 95, 96 and 98 Nintendo Creatures. Here's a good comparison pic. --Spriteit (talk) 23:26, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
So, going by latest releases, it appears that "Imposter" is the most recent spelling. So, yeah, I'm removing the trivia. --GoldenSandslash15 (talk) 23:58, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
My attempt to move the page failed, because apparently a page with that name already exists (though it appears to be nothing more than a redirect). Can anyone who is more wiki-savvy than me help me on this? --GoldenSandslash15 (talk) 00:02, 20 May 2014 (UTC)
(reset indent) Page has been moved, I'll let Nate handle the finetuning of the rest though. --Spriteit (talk) 11:50, 20 May 2014 (UTC)
