If anyone's wondering where the name came from, check - Vagabond Aeon

How do you pronounce this? I would call it Bons-lee, but with the name origin, it could be Bon-sly. Any ideas? - Ferret 02:28, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I don't remember writing that and still don't have an answer. Ha ha ha. - Ferret 23:30, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
I pronounce it Bon-sly. I don't think we can find out until the movie is released. --FabuVinny 15:55, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
I also pronounce it "Bons-lee." --Argy
From Pokebeach today:
I was just e-mailed by PUSA with this info "The only thing I wanted to clear up on your post is that Bonsly is pronounced Bon-sly -- officially. The pun is that it's a "sly" "bonsai" tree, you don't realize it's a Pokémon. Regardless of what others say by accident, I wanted you to know the actual pronunciation."
So it is officially Bon-sly.--FabuVinny 15:43, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Could an admin put up a "bad picture" template on? The artwork pic is blurry. CuboneKing 01:12, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

In trivia Bonsly is the only Pokémon yet that is usable in-game by a player during the generation before its release, as it was on the Battle Bingo Bonsly card. it isnt exactly correct since munchlax is playble through hacking in mystery dungeon and also playble in pokemon dash, shouldnt it be that it is only pokemon to be avaible for use in an in-game battle?

Wouldn't that also make those two Pokemon technically Generation III, since they are playable in at least one game in the generation? Pawsrent 19:48, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

no..... it wasnt even a real bonsly...dash isnt the same as usual games

and hacking never counts (never hack's wrong) (Ataro 20:09, 13 July 2010 (UTC))

But Bonsly (and to a lesser, game freezing extent, Munchlax) IS still programmed into the game though, the "This Pokémon was unavailable prior to Generation IV." needs to be changed as it is misleading, since it was available in XD through hacking, just like Celebi was only available through hacking, but it is still considered available (even though it isnt, to non Japanese players)Vuvuzela2010 09:09, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Both Bonsly and Munchlax had their cries revealed at the same time, in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, being the first Generation IV Pokémon to receive this treatment.

Are these tho only Pokemon (at all, not just Gen IV) to get this treatment? XVuvuzela2010X 00:23, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

In my Black 2, I put my Sudowoodo and Ditto in the Daycare and I recieved an egg, which hatched into a Sudowoodo instead of a Bonsly. Could anyone tell me why? Plusleminun311312 (talk) 13:49, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Never mind. Plusleminun311312 (talk) 13:56, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Wasn't Bonsly realeased through a patch on SSBB? Pgj1997 15:28, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

No, it was on Brawl since the beginning... ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 15:29, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
I've heard it's a patch if you go on wifi, there's proof here. It says that the patch was realeased in December of 2010 while the game itself was realeased on March of 2008 Pgj1997 15:37, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
And here's my counter argument. Not the date marked "Dec. 10 Mon. 2007" above the name Bonsly. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 15:46, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Also, the video you linked to is dated on the 9th of December. It was absolutely released from release day, I and many, many others can vouch for this. Blazios 15:51, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Base stats

I wonder what Bonsly's base stats were in XD. TorchicBlaziken (talkedits) 04:10, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
