Black & White Series
This card was included in the Plasma Freeze expansion with artwork by 5ban Graphics, first released in the Japanese Spiral Force expansion.
Scarlet & Violet Series
Superior Energy Retrieval was reprinted in the Japanese Triplet Beat subset with new artwork by Studio Bora Inc., and as a hyper rare in the Japanese Clay Burst expansion with artwork by the same artist. Both the Regular and the hyper rare prints were included in English in the Paldea Evolved expansion. These prints feature a slight text change to include the phrase up to, in order to give players the option to take fewer than the maximum number of cards. In Japan, the Regular print of this card was reprinted in the Terastal Starter Set Skeledirge ex, the Venusaur & Charizard & Blastoise Special Deck Set ex, the Shiny Treasure ex subset, the Battle Master Deck Chien-Pao ex, and the Terastal Fest ex subset.
